Don’t miss out on the opportunity to register for the upcoming Multi-Agency Forum on Using FOIA to Access Immigration Records. OGIS—along with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)—will co-host a special forum on immigration records on August 30, 2018.

This event will bring together representatives of a number of agencies, including:

  • USCIS
  • U.S. Department of State
  • U.S. Customs and Border Protection
  • U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
  • The Executive Office for Immigration Review, U.S. Department of Justice
  • The National Archives and Records Administration

The forum will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT in the William G. McGowan Theater. To attend and participate in person, please register using EventBrite. You will also be able to watch the livestream on the National Archives YouTube Channel, and use the chat function to send us your questions for the speakers.

For those who are not able to join us for the forum—or who want more detailed information about the topics the speakers will discuss—we have published a FOIA Ombuds Observer on immigration records. The FOIA Ombuds Observer addresses questions and issues that we frequently see in our dispute resolution practice. Learn more about the FOIA Ombuds Observer here.
