Time is running out to register to attend—virtually, of course—the next meeting of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee on Thursday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.
Register here by 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, December 8 to receive an email with instructions for accessing the meeting via WebEx. Those who register will have the opportunity to speak during public comment in the last 15 minutes of the meeting, in accordance with regulations governing federal advisory committees. (You may also submit written comments at any time.)
We will livestream the meeting on the National Archives and Records Administration’s YouTube channel (with a slight transmission delay). Both WebEx attendees and YouTube watchers can use the typed chat function which we will monitor and read aloud questions and comments during the public comment period.
The agenda includes a briefing on FOIA and classified records, a discussion on the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on FOIA processing, and updates on the work of the Committee’s four subcommittees: Classification, Legislation, Process, and Technology. We hope you’ll join us.
