Registration is now open for OGIS’s Annual Open Meeting on Monday, July 20, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be virtual. Please register by Thursday, July 16, 2020, to virtually attend the meeting. We will send instructions by email to all registrants for accessing the meeting, which will include a public comment period at the end of the meeting. We will monitor the chat function of the virtual meeting and will read out loud questions and comments from the public.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide the public with an update on OGIS’s activities, and give interested parties an opportunity to present oral or written statements. During the meeting, OGIS Director Alina M. Semo will highlight our work and observations during Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 and discuss our activities in FY 2020. There will be a discussion with two members of the 2018-2020 term of the FOIA Advisory Committee who will discuss recommendations the Committee recently made to Archivist of the United States David S. Ferriero.

We welcome your thoughts and encourage you to submit your questions, comments and/or written statements to ogisopenmeeting@nara.gov. After the meeting, we will post the meeting video to NARA’s YouTube Channel and post a transcript of the meeting to our website. Be sure to check out our Annual Open Meeting webpage for meeting materials.
