Chief FOIA Officers Council Meeting

The Chief FOIA Officers Council (CFO) meets to provide an overview of the Council for new CFOs and updates from OGIS, the Office of Information Policy (OIP), and the CFO Council Committees.
Members of the public are invited to:
- Watch the livestream on the National Archives’ YouTube Channel.
- Attend the meeting virtually through Webex. Those attending the meeting via Webex will need to connect to the audio portion of the meeting by telephone.
To present oral comments during the Public Comments portion of the meeting, you must register to attend via Webex.
If you wish to attend via Webex, you must register by April 27 at 11:59 p.m. (ET). After you register, we will email you information for accessing the meeting.
Finding a Needle in a Haystack: Enterprise-wide FOIA Searches at CDC

OGIS will host the FOIA office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a deep dive into the search process for agency-wide (enterprise) electronic records. Topics will include:
- The boundaries of enterprise search
- Tools to retrieve documents
- Real examples and demonstrations of successful searches
- Tips for scoping requests to ensure better search results
This session will be particularly helpful for those requesters who seek email records and have been informed that the request’s scope is too broad. Other agency FOIA offices that are challenged by enterprise search may also find this discussion helpful. Please join us!
OGIS Annual Open Meeting

The National Archives and Records Administration’s FOIA Advisory Committee will host a virtual open meeting, the fourth of the 2020-2022 term, to hear updates from the Committee’s Classification, Legislation, Process, and Technology subcommittees.
